  1. Hi Mark – Cortney Scheeser here. I enjoy reviewing your blog and am glad you’re encouraging communication.

Just a quick comment. I think you’ll agree that this Election is about a lot of diverse issues. While you and I don’t share the same opinion on D, there is much fertile ground for potential agreement: Budgets, Communication, Urban Forestry, Hunting, Safety, MPF Vison Plan, etc. I don’t think this precludes a D supporter from considering/voting for me.

I’d like a chance to win your support and others who will vote Yes on D – please consider coming to the Debate on 10/27 7:30PM at Mariemont Elementary. Or email me any time. cscheeser@yahoo.com

  2. Cortney, how are you. Responding to your comment on http://mariemontmoveforward.blogspot.com/ (Residence D in the news) here's some thoughts (feel free to post on your site):

    1)ELECTION ISSUES:
No doubt the Village has many important issues to consider. Residence D may be most critical. Here are some of its benefits:

a)provides expanded tax base (Jordan Park alone annually yields $191k in new property tax over and above previous site use, not including new income, estate and business tax potential)

b)updates zoning (regulates new multi-family development to fit into Village architectural context)

c)promotes new housing stock (modern high end and entry level condo and apartment units are possible)

d)fulfills the original town plan (added density and business activity around the square were always envisioned)

e)establishes senior housing options (senior living units (both condo and apartment) and a new MariElders activity center are proposed)

In short, Res D is critical to position the Village for future prosperity. It's important that voters are informed. Our website is always open for business.

2)CANDIDATE FORUM: per Town Crier, schedule changed to 10/27 at 7:00pm

Be glad to talk with you. MB
